Share Yer Bounty

The best part of being blessed with a bountiful harvest is the opportunity to share with your community. My next door neighbor arrived at my door today with an enormous gift of cherries. And I intend to return the favor. (Yes, that is the authentic photo of said cherries below.) Goodwill spreads so easily.

There's a movement afoot to glean unwanted fruit and produce from homeowners' gardens to help feed the poor. It's such a shame to see citrus fruit rotting on trees when there are so many hungry mouths in our country. Talk to your local foodbank to see if you can help or start a gleaning task force of your own for your town.
